Renata Ferreira received her PhD in 2014, in Environmental Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico (Universidade de Lisboa), on “Phytoremediation of soils contaminated with organic pollutants”. At present she is a post-doctoral researcher working at the Centre for Natural Resources and the Environment (CERENA), Instituto Superior Técnico (Universidade de Lisboa). Her research work addresses the study of phytoremediation of contaminated water and soils, focus on the plant role (oxidative stress response and detoxification) and on the organic compounds phytodegradation mechanisms.
