Amélia Lemos is an associate professor at IST in the Chemical Engineering Department. She graduate in 1981 in Chemical Engineering at IST, obtained his Master on Chemistry of Catalytic Processes in 1985 and a PhD in Chemistry in 1993 with a thesis on the Synthesis and Electrochemical Behaviour of Iron-Isocyanide Complexes. She is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Chemical Engineering Department of IST, in charge of external relations and outreach. Her main fields of research are catalysis (both homogeneous and heterogeneous), electrochemistry (including sensor development), analysis and modelling of dynamic systems and process control. She has published more than 70 papers in scientific journals, and over 80 works on conference proceedings. She has supervised or co-supervised 2 PhD thesis and participated or coordinated various research projects.
