Miguel Albino is graduated (2024) and completed his Master’s degree (2025) in Geological and Mining Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico. During his studies, he developed a strong interest in the interface between mining engineering, mineral processing technologies, and space resource exploration. His main area of focus is lunar resources. He has conducted research on particle segregation mechanisms under lunar gravity conditions, work that was selected and presented at Space Resources Week 2025, where he received the Best Poster Award in Fundamental Research. He is scheduled to present further work in this field at Space Resources Week 2026.In parallel, he is active in public engagement as a contributor to the newspaper Público, where he writes about mining, education, and society. During his academic journey, he also took part in several student initiatives. He is currently involved in the creation of the first Winter School on Space Resources and is a founding member of the National Institute for Space Resources (INRE), established in 2026.
