Guenther Schwedersky Neto graduated in Geology from the Brazilian Federal University of Bahia (UFBa) in 1980, holds a PhD in Geophysics from the same University in a Cooperation Program with Petrobras. With 35 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, Guenther expend most of his professional life doing Applied Geophysical Research in the Petrobras Research Center (CENPES) being responsible for the introduction of new technologies in the company. Coordinated a large number of Research Projects both for Exploration and Production. For the past 4 years, as Senior Geophysist, Guenther worked for the Exploration & Production Department at Petrobras’ Headquarters, as an expert on QI (Quantitative Interpretation) and Seismic Inversion. In this context, he provided technical support to many of Petrobras’ Exploratory Drilling Proposals and Reservoir Characterization Studies. Member of EAEG, SEG, SBGF, Guenther has published numerous technical papers and has been involved, as an advisor, with Masters and PhD theses, as well as in the trainning of Petrobras young generations of geophysicists. Recently, in August 2016, Guenther exercise the option to retire and start a new professional moment as an independent consultant. Guenther is, therefore, currently open to cooperation with the Academy and/or the Industry.
