Dr. Smolka is a Senior Advisor to the GEM Foundation and co-founder of the Global Earthquake Model (GEM) project .
Dr. Smolka holds a Doctorate in Natural Sciences (Dr. rer.nat.) and M.S. degrees in Geology from the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich, Germany.
