Assistant Professor at the Chemical Engineering Department of Instituto Superior Técnico (Universidade de Lisboa). In 2000 she obtained the Ph.D. with the thesis "Iron removal by liquid-liquid extraction”. Her research interest is in the area of separation processes and effluents treatment. The work done has been related to the use of conventional liquid-liquid extraction and non-dispersive solvent extraction with hollow fibers for the removal of organic solutes and heavy metals from acidic solutions.
