In CERENA's 20-year seminar series this month, Rui Sousa welcomes Engineer Nuno Faria to discuss "Converging Paths: Academia–Industry Synergies in Critical Raw Material Recovery".

This talk brings together two professional journeys that have evolved in opposite directions but now converge on a shared goal: advancing the recovery of critical raw materials. One speaker began in academia and later moved into industry, where he applies advanced scientific knowledge to the development and optimization of industrial processes. The other started in industry and has more recently become involved with academia, contributing practical experience and operational insight to research projects. Through these complementary perspectives, the session will explore how bidirectional collaboration between science and industry can accelerate innovation, improve processes, and address the strategic challenges associated with critical raw materials.
